1. What’s the most exciting newly opened restaurant / cafe on the Gold Coast and why?

It’s been open for quite a few months now but Brooklyn Depot in Surfers Paradise has to be the hottest spot on the Gold Coast. It’s that hot that it’s often hard to get a table there. The American style food is amazing, with the tastiest burgers and their brioche doughnuts are so yummy & naughty! The atmosphere is fantastic and overall it’s just a really great place to meet friends for a social bite to eat & to grab a drink. Located in the 4217, the hottest new foodie spot on the Gold Coast.

2. What’s the best new hotel on the Gold Coast and why?

The QT Hotel has to be our pick of hotels on the Gold Coast. From its fun & vibrant decor to its hip & happening bars and restaurants, it’s definitely a place to experience on the coast. QT Bazaar is a must try, you can indulge like a king (or queen) at their buffet. Or for a fun time Stingray Lounge has great cocktails and Mexican inspired food. The perfect place to meet friends for a cheeky margarita and a few tacos.

3. What’s the most exciting suburb to explore the Gold Coast at the moment?

It’s really a toss up between Surfers Paradise and Burleigh Heads. Both suburbs are unique in their own ways, with Burleigh being the laid back beachside style location to Surfers being the trendy tourist hotspot. Both are really great food spots, with new restaurants and cafes popping up in both areas. You certainly won’t go hungry in either suburb.

4. What’s the best new Gold Coast experience?

We are happy to say that Food Trucks on the Gold Coast are finally starting to kick off. We have a few local trucks doing the weekly circuit in several locations on the coast, as well as some Brisbane trucks making the trip down south. With tasty tacos from Siguenos, American style hotdogs from Mr America Hot Dogs & Fries to the ever popular Wiener Haus Hotdogs, there is something for everyone on these trucks. They are getting regular followers stalking them all over the coast and we could not be happier for them to grow and grow.

5. Where can you find the best Gold Coast secret location only the locals know about?

There is a quirky little bar just opened up in Tugun called Hidden, behind Groove Cafe. It serves tapas style treats and cocktails at the bar, whilst you listen to live music. It feels like you have stepped back in time and found a hidden underground bar in the roaring eras of time gone by. Open Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights only.

6. Anything you would like to add? Have you discovered any amazing hidden gems for food, travel, coffee, wine that you would like to share?

An all-time favourite of ours is Paddock Bakery in Miami, we love to stop by and pick up some sneaky treats such as their donuts and cruffins. Another new favourite is Buena Vista Pizza in Kirra, a big call to make but we think they are the best pizzas we have had on the Gold Coast. There are lots of new places opening on the coast.. It’s an exciting time for everyone that loves food on the Gold Coast.

Judging by the lines that spill out on the streets, Commune cafe in Burleigh Heads is a favourite. It’s where escape to when we need an office change and an almond milk cappuccino.

In my opinion it would have to be the Greenhouse Factory as I am not only gluten free but also Vegan these guys offer the most delicious meals that cater to an audience such as myself who struggle to find such eateries to visit.

2. What’s the best new hotel on the Gold Coast and why? As of late we don’t particularly have any exciting new hotels on the Gold Coast. However by far the best hotel on the Gold Coast is known to be the Palazza Versace.

3. Whats the most exciting suburb to explore the Gold Coast at the moment?

The most exciting suburb to explore on the Gold Coast for tourists would have to be Broadbeach. Here you are on the water, have many cafes, restaurants, hotels and one of the biggest shopping centres in Australia name Pacific Fair!

4. What’s the best new Gold Coast experience?

One of the best Gold Coast experiences would have to be visiting the Q1 Skypoint or Observation Deck. Way up on the 77th floor you have the observation deck or for the more extreme you can walk around the outside of the building harnessed on for your safety. Boasting one of the most brilliant views, on a clear day you can even see Byron Bay, the most Eastern tip of Australia.

1. What’s the most exciting newly opened restaurant / cafe on the Gold Coast and why?

The Gold Coast is a hub of culinary delights and I love that there is always something new popping up somewhere along the stretch from The Spit to Coolangatta. Fiery Deli in Burleigh Heads is a favourite because I’ve been a fan of the humble food truck for some time now and this is its first bricks and mortar store, serving a delicious array of Venezuelan cuisine. Other new restaurants that I’m excited to try include Cocoon Ultralounge in Surfers Paradise, House of Brews, also in Surfers Paradise, and the new Miss Margarita in Broadbeach.

2. What’s the best new hotel on the Gold Coast and why?

While it may not be the newest on the Gold Coast, I can’t go past QT Hotel at Surfers Paradise. It’s a quirky dream come true and the Bazaar Restaurant is a feast for the senses.

3. What’s the most exciting suburb to explore the Gold Coast at the moment?

I can’t go past a trip to Burleigh – it will always be my favourite suburb on the Gold Coast to explore. I love grabbing a fresh juice and breakfast by the sea, walking down James Street for a spot of shopping and then crossing the road for a dip in the ocean. On the first and third Sunday of the month, The Village Markets pop up on the school oval and they’re bustling with handmade treasures, vintage threads and great market food.

4. Where can you find the best Gold Coast secret location only the locals know about?

If you want to escape the crowds of tourists in hotspots like Surfers Paradise but still want to experience the best of the Gold Coast’s beaches, head to Tugun for a more local experience. Everything that you would need is within walking distance, and it’s only a short drive to Burleigh, Broadbeach, Coolangatta and Surfers Paradise.

5. Anything you would like to add? Have you discovered any amazing hidden gems for food, travel, coffee, wine that you would like to share?

It’s not very hidden nor is it much of a secret, but Gelato Messina in Coolangatta is a must if you are in the area on a hot summer’s day (or any day for that matter!).

1. What’s the most exciting newly opened restaurant / cafe on the Gold Coast and why?

Boom Boom Burgers on Chevron Island is a cool little burger joint that’s been making some waves on the Gold Coast. Since opening its doors in May, it has quickly made a name for itself as being one of the most unique burger bars in the city. My personal favourite burger is the “Pig Me Up”, with its daring combination of slow cooked sticky-sweet pork belly, green apple chutney and blue cheese. Mmmm.

2. What’s the best new hotel on the Gold Coast and why?

Not exactly a new hotel, but one that has modestly remained under the radar until now. Xanadu Holiday Resort on Main Beach has recently caught the attention of TripAdvisor users and, after receiving superb ratings, has been awarded the 2015 Traveller’s Choice Award. Along with its spectacular beach front views, guests will be glad to know that Xanadu is within walking distance to some of the Gold Coast’s best restaurants along Tedder Avenue, and is just a short tram ride away from the shopping and entertainment precinct of Surfers Paradise!

3. Where can you find the best Gold Coast secret location only the locals know about?

Harbourside Market, located along Oxley Drive in Biggera Waters, is one place visitors to the Gold Coast often overlook, possibly because it sits across the street from the giant shopping playground that is Harbour Town. But if you’re looking for something good to eat, I think it’s worth giving the place a go. Home to plenty of restaurants showcasing local and international cuisine, Harbourside Market is a real treat for food lovers!

4. Anything you would like to add? Have you discovered any amazing hidden gems for food, travel, coffee, wine that you would like to share?

If you’re looking for a great breakfast spot on the GC, head to the charming Elephant Rock Café at Currumbin Beach on clear and sunny morning to enjoy delicious food and a gorgeous view of the surf. Then head up that giant rock next to the Currumbin Beach Vikings Surf Club for a stunning panoramic view of Currumbin!
